DIPLOMA in Contemporary Psychotherapy

Course Overview 

The BeeLeaf Diploma in Contemporary Psychotherapy is a modular part-time training that usually takes 2 - 3 years to complete. The Diploma is made up of several modules of training as listed below and upon successful completion you may use the title Psychotherapist. Most people who complete our Diploma then choose to continue to our Advanced Diploma in Contemporary Psychotherapy and meet further requirements to become UKCP Registered.

REQUIREMENTS FOR AWARD OF DIPLOMA IN CONTEMPORARY PSYCHOTHERAPY

Certificate in Skills & Principles of  Contemporary Psychotherapy (replaces Foundation Certificate) *

Certificate in Contemporary Psychotherapy in Practice (replaces Intermediate Certificate)

Ethical Practice

Human Development & Sexuality *

Psychopathology *

Clinical Practice and Comparative Psychotherapy including a minimum of 100 hours of Supervised Clinical Practice (Clinical Supervisor fee not included in course fee. You are required to have one hour of Clinical Supervision with a Clinical Supervisor for every six hours of Clinical Practice with clients)

Course Aims 

The BeeLeaf Diploma in Contemporary Psychotherapy is a modular part-time training that usually takes 2 - 3 years to complete. It will provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills to begin practice as a Psychotherapist. It can also be used towards the BeeLeaf Advanced Diploma in Contemporary Psychotherapy a requirement for those working towards UKCP Accreditation with BeeLeaf.

Learning & assessment 

The majority of the training takes place in the classroom and is set at high challenge level that involves exercises in pairs & small groups, practical demonstrations & theoretical input. On the short courses there is also some synchronous online learning that takes place within a friendly, safe and supportive environment. Information rich colourful training manuals published by BeeLeaf are included in the course fees. The assessment procedures are designed to provide you with the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge, understanding and skills, recognise areas of strength and achievement and receive feedback in areas where you can achieve improvement.

The assessment is ongoing and includes:

    Presentation of a Personal Learning Portfolio
    Practical assessment within small groups
    Written home study assignments

Your Trainer may also suggest helpful tasks for you individually, to support you in fully capitalising on your talents and goals.

inclusivity

Fees 

  • Application Fee £50
  • Training fees. See course fees here.
  • Fees for personal therapy. Budget for approximately £30 - £50 per session.
  • Fees for Clinical Supervision. Budget for up to £50 per session or free.
  • Professional Liability Insurance. Budget for approximately £70 per year. Applicable as soon as you begin seeing clients in private practice.
  • Annual membership fee for BeeLeaf Register, Community for Contemporary Psychotherapy included in training fee, exceptions when training is deferred / extended. The annual fee is currently beween £80 - £120.
  • Fee for UKCP Registration. Optional annual Trainee Membership plus final UKCP Registration fee. Current annual fees start from approximately £50.
