Before becoming a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist, I worked in Further Education as a ESOL tutor, and also had a limited private practice as a hypnotherapist (this began a few months before starting training with BeeLeaf).
The placement I did (during my training with BeeLeaf) was at a GP practice in west London, which I took over from another BeeLeaf trainee. This was perhaps a little different from some placements in that it was paid (at a nominal hourly rate) and that there was no superivsion as there was no counselling department, so supervision was with my existing Clinical Supervisor. I worked for the Practice for over four years, up until December 2013 when they decided to refer all counselling patients to Camden Psychological Services.
At present (now I am fully qualified) I am in private practice in east and central London, and starting up in south west London.
Working as a psychotherapist I most enjoy helping the wide variety of people I see meet their desired outcomes, whether that be very short term, a few sessions or in developing a longer term therapeutic relationship.
