Imi is a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist, HCPC Registered Art Therapist, and Social Worker.
She specialises in the topics of emotional intensity, sensitivity, and borderline (emotional unstable) personality disorder. Imi she offers a unique perspective that combines scientific therapy approaches and more artistic and intuitive methods to help people address deep-rooted emotional patterns.
In addition to the Master in Mental Health from the School of Medicine, University of Queensland, she has attained qualifications to deliver Mentalisation- based Treatment (MBT), Art Psychotherapy, Mindfulness- based Cognitive Therapy, and Hypnotherapy. She has worked in mental health in various countries including the UK, Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, in NHS Specialist Teams and the Samaritans Suicide Crisis Intervention Centre. Her other experience includes running a mental health day centre at Mind, working in a special school with children with behavioural issues, and as a therapist at London Friend, supporting the LGBT community.
Imi is an experienced Mindfulness Practitioner and delivers Mindfulness- based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindfulness- based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Programs in the community. She has published articles in academic journals and online directories on topics including Personality Disorder, Art Therapy, Mindfulness and Existentialism. As part of her personal journey, she is a trained Yoga Teacher, and a visual artist.
