Trainer
Gordon is a UKCP registered Psychotherapist and Trainer. Gordon works both with the NHS in a Specialist Palliative Care Psychology Team (SPCPT) and in private practice. Gordon’s work with the SPCT is with people experiencing life limiting illness and bereavement. This may be with individuals, couples or adult family’s/systems, in the hospice environment, people’s homes or online. Before this Gordon worked in the NHS for more than 20 years as a Nurse in Acute General Medicine, later specialising in Oncology/Haematology both in acute and palliative care.
Gordon has an extensive experience of the way acute/chronic illness, dying, death and bereavement impacts people. Gordon has a particular interest in couples and family/systems work as well as that which focuses on the trauma bought about by our experience of death, the somatic experience of this and the art of utilising the therapist’s felt experience in psychotherapy. Gordon’s private practice may also be with people with life limiting illness or experiencing bereavement but is not exclusively so.
