Marie qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse in 1990 and worked within a range of inpatient and community settings in the NHS and local authority across adult, young person and children services. She is a Full Member of the Nursing Midwifery Council, Royal College of Nursing and Accredited and Registered Member of the Community for Contemporary Psychotherapy. Marie is a UKCP Accredited Psychotherapist having graduated from BeeLeaf with the Advanced Diploma in Contemporary Psychotherapy and holds a BSC Mental Health, MSC in adolescent addiction and post graduate certificate in Supervision.

Marie has a wide range of experience within the field of mental health and addiction including the delivery of both front line and therapeutic interventions, in London and Essex.

She has successfully developed and managed two addiction services, one to provide treatment for comorbid mental and addiction and secondly a young person’s drug and alcohol service.

Marie has provided training on behalf of both the NHS and local authority sector for professionals, volunteers, parents and carers. Specific subject areas have included: addiction; risk and crisis management for mental health, comorbid mental health and substance use disorder and treatment for depression and anxiety.

Marie is an experienced clinical supervisor within NHS, voluntary and private sector.

Marie currently works for the NHS as a locality clinical lead for a Mental Health Support Team, an evolving service providing psychological interventions to primary, secondary and college students.

She is also practicing as an Adult Psychotherapist and deputy clinical director within a local counselling charity.
